What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine that originated in China 5,000 years ago, at least by some accounts.

It is a method of treatment that encourages the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points.

Other Therapies in Chinese Medicine

Say "Chinese Medicine" and more likely than not, the first thing that comes to your mind is acupuncture. Though acupuncture is a vital and integral part of Chinese Medicine, it is only one of several sub-modalities that comprises this ancient healing tradition.

I began my medical career in Chinese Medicine before entering medical school and training in conventional, allopathic medicine.*
